On January 16, 2015 BJMBC offered a special benefit concert. Many students and faculty sacrificed hours of time to make this concert a wonderful blessing as well as a significant step forward for the BJMBC building fund. Held in the beautiful 1000-seat Meralco Theater on January 16, 2015, the concert included extensive songs written by BJMBC students as well as the Asia premiere of Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living. Generous donors from another Asian country sponsored the concert, allowing all the proceeds to be given directly to the building fund. Here are several updates of how the Lord provided:
- How many people attended? Approximately 1,000 people were present. All tickets were sold out.
- How much was raised for the building fund? A total of P260,000 was raised at the concert itself, another P233,000 came in afterwards and $574 was donated in the US.
- How many musicians were involved? At least 70 singers from four different church choirs participated. There's no exact count, but the choir spent at least 50 hours rehearsing the second half of the concert alone!
The most exciting thing is that you can still enjoy the concert today. A professional quality CD of the concert is now available for purchase.
